Downtown Brown... and Silver

When I first started wearing eye makeup the only color I'd ever wear was brown.  I though it was the only color that would look good with my eye color.  Since then I've enlightened myself... though for whatever reason I wanted to do a light pretty sparkly brown eye look today. At first I though I may have overdone it with the frosty shadows but it seemed to work out. :)

Gotta luv my eyebrow scars when I don't fill them in XD

And later on in the evening before leaving for my Tuesday night family dinner I changed it up a bit and put on Evil Shades lipstick in Caged Gypsy.
Stupid face is stupid, but I didn't have a lot of time to take a better pic :P

Stuff I used:

~Eyes

*Urban Decay Primer Potion
*Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy
*Aromaleigh Holly Days shadow in Naughty or Nice (frosted slate cocoa taupe with festive sparks of gold and violet) Applied all over lid up to and above crease
*Aromaleigh Starry Night shadow in Sirius (pale, cool metallic silver frost with brilliant sparks of gold and copper) Blended onto inner lid, tear duct and browbone
*Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Bourbon, upper & lower waterline
*Urban Decay Darkhorse, just a bit blended over Bourbon
*Diorshow Lash Primer
*Cover Girl Lashblast mascara in Brown

~Face

*Meow Combination Skin Primer
*Meow Purrfect Puss Foundation in Sleek Siamese
*Benefit Coralista for blush

~Lips

*Evil Shades lip gloss in Feline's Kiss
*Evil Shades lipstick in Caged Gypsy (last pic)

I really should've done my eyebrows, but I didn't feel like it. :P  It really would've pulled this look together and given it some extra polish though.  Oh well.
If anyone is interested in the Aromaleigh shadows I suggest you head on over to their website as they are having a massive sale to make room for new stuff. :D   I am thinking about getting Sirius in the full size.... I have a million silver shadows but this one is unique because of the contrasting gold and copper sparklies.  Me likey!!!!

Work Look with Naked Palette & Liquid Liner

Happy Friday! :D
This was a makeup look I did last week for work.  Until recently I usually would not wear makeup to work; the work I do is very physical, I sweat a lot and makeup simply felt uncomfortable.  I've found mineral foundation to be especially uncomfortable... but since then I've discovered mineral foundation without bismuth oxychloride as one of the ingredients and it's made a world of difference.
I've also decided to start wearing makeup more often at work for a couple other reasons... one being that I own so damned much of it that I really feel kind of ridiculous not wearing it.  Another being that according to some fairly recent studies conducted by Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston University and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (Proctor & Gamble too but they don't count since they are part of the mass market cosmetics industry) women who wear makeup in the workplace are seen as more competent and likable.  I am in the process of building a business and I figure it could only help me to start wearing makeup at work.  Also I find makeup fun and it gives me stuff to blog about. :)
I took a risk and wore liquid eyeliner. Yep, I live right on the edge.  It's not too terrible considering I haven't worn liquid liner since I was a teen. (about a decade ago!)  Back in the day I was a liquid liner freakshow, it was crazy!  If I ever dig up some pics of that I will have to share, it's quite funny.

Stuff I used:

~Eyes

*UD Primer Potion
*UD Single Shadows in Foxy and and Blunt mixed together on lid.  This Foxy I got as one of their eyeshadow singles in mattes.  It's not from their Naked 2 palette; from the swatches I've seen online they seem like slightly different colors to me.  The Foxy single seems more peachy as opposed to the one in Naked 2.
*Naked (Naked Palette) and Foxy (single) mixed together in crease
*Vigin (Naked Palette) on browbone
*UD Liquid Liner in Sabbath on upper lashline
*UD 24/7 pencil in Yeyo on lower waterline
*Dior lash primer
*Buxom Mascara
*Too Faced Brownies in Blonde-y to fill in my wonky brows

~Face

*Meow Combination Skin Primer
*Meow Purrfect Puss foundation in Sleek Siamese
and that's all folks.  I don't wear any blush or luminizer or anything like that for work cuz my face gets flushed enough naturally from doing work :P

~Lips

~Fresh Sugar Plum Tinted Lip Treatment

I did not realize how warm/peachy my eyeshadow looked until after I snapped these pics.  I would tone down the peachy shades and used a more warm toned lip color if I were to do this look again.
I'd like to hear other people's thoughts on wearing makeup at work. :)

Meow's Aurora Borealis & Aurora Australis

One more quickie Meow post cuz I just found these swatches and eye look I did awhile ago playin' around with these guys. :)

Borealis on top, Australis on bottom

I wore Aurora Australis over UDPP in Greed and Fyrinnae Polar Bear, then a thin layer of Pixie Epoxy.  I don't remember what else I used. :/    I guess it doesn't matter too much cuz it was just messing around with gold stuff I had.  I'd like to try another gold look similar to this soon, as this one didn't come out exactly how I had envisioned, but that's how you figure this makeup stuff out. :)

Christmas Look

I know I'm a bit late with this, but here we have the look I did for Christmas.  I was quite pleased with how it turned out. A little smudged beneath the lower lashline, but whateva.  It is similar to this look I did using Meow's Jangle and Serenity only this time I used HoHoHo and Nice.  I like Nice very much... white w/blue and green sparklies! Nice! XD
I realize most of my posts so far feature Meow stuff...and I still have a ton of colors to swatch and play with! Overwhelming.  But in a good way! :)   I plan on showing some love to my other awesome stuff I've acquired recently from other awesome companies.  Soon!
