Work Look with Naked Palette & Liquid Liner

Happy Friday! :D
This was a makeup look I did last week for work.  Until recently I usually would not wear makeup to work; the work I do is very physical, I sweat a lot and makeup simply felt uncomfortable.  I've found mineral foundation to be especially uncomfortable... but since then I've discovered mineral foundation without bismuth oxychloride as one of the ingredients and it's made a world of difference.
I've also decided to start wearing makeup more often at work for a couple other reasons... one being that I own so damned much of it that I really feel kind of ridiculous not wearing it.  Another being that according to some fairly recent studies conducted by Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston University and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (Proctor & Gamble too but they don't count since they are part of the mass market cosmetics industry) women who wear makeup in the workplace are seen as more competent and likable.  I am in the process of building a business and I figure it could only help me to start wearing makeup at work.  Also I find makeup fun and it gives me stuff to blog about. :)
I took a risk and wore liquid eyeliner. Yep, I live right on the edge.  It's not too terrible considering I haven't worn liquid liner since I was a teen. (about a decade ago!)  Back in the day I was a liquid liner freakshow, it was crazy!  If I ever dig up some pics of that I will have to share, it's quite funny.

Stuff I used:

~Eyes

*UD Primer Potion
*UD Single Shadows in Foxy and and Blunt mixed together on lid.  This Foxy I got as one of their eyeshadow singles in mattes.  It's not from their Naked 2 palette; from the swatches I've seen online they seem like slightly different colors to me.  The Foxy single seems more peachy as opposed to the one in Naked 2.
*Naked (Naked Palette) and Foxy (single) mixed together in crease
*Vigin (Naked Palette) on browbone
*UD Liquid Liner in Sabbath on upper lashline
*UD 24/7 pencil in Yeyo on lower waterline
*Dior lash primer
*Buxom Mascara
*Too Faced Brownies in Blonde-y to fill in my wonky brows

~Face

*Meow Combination Skin Primer
*Meow Purrfect Puss foundation in Sleek Siamese
and that's all folks.  I don't wear any blush or luminizer or anything like that for work cuz my face gets flushed enough naturally from doing work :P

~Lips

~Fresh Sugar Plum Tinted Lip Treatment

I did not realize how warm/peachy my eyeshadow looked until after I snapped these pics.  I would tone down the peachy shades and used a more warm toned lip color if I were to do this look again.
I'd like to hear other people's thoughts on wearing makeup at work. :)

  1. Haha well if women who wear makeup in the workplace are seen as competent and likable, I must be REALLY competent and likable XD Nobody can ever tell me I wear too much, haha.

    Cute look!

  2. Thanks Girl!
I can understand the study and how it's relevent to females wanting to look professional and put together and blah blah. Too bad that doesn't (yet) translate to wearing colour like a champ and being full of awesome :D
